Centenary Celebrations
What a fantastic day for the club, Saturday 8th March, not only did we host the first ever Football in Berkshire ‘Hitting the Road’ event but we also received the FA Club Centenary Award from the Berks & Bucks FA. One of only 14 clubs in the region to receive the honour.
We could not have been blessed any better with the weather and it set the tone for a wonderful afternoon at The Cauldron. Before the game Liz and Steph from the Berks & Bucks FA presented the club with the Centenary award before the Hitting the Road event really got underway.
A bumper crowd basked in the Spring sunshine, joining Tom and Abi from Football in Berkshire along with special guest Paul Watson. The Non-League HQ team were there along with The Wandering Tractor, all taking in their first match day at The Cauldron.
The game itself vs AFC Winkfield was a close affair but the day was rounded off with a YM win, an early Joel Burton goal direct from a corner sealing it 1-0.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and shared the day with us. Special thanks in particular to Tom and Abi at Football in Berkshire who put in an enormous amount of work in to making it what it was. They are a true asset to the local football community.
