We are extremely proud to have been shortlisted for 2 Football in Berkshire Awards…
It is hard to believe how far we have come in the last few years in terms of offering a Match Day experience that everyone can genuinely look forward to for both players and supporters. A dedicated team of volunteers have been involved in these developments and should all rightly be proud.
Players can come to The Cauldron knowing that they are going to be playing on one of the best surfaces in Berkshire, their goals will be captured on video, photos will be taken and distributed across social media for them to share and download.
The club has invested heavily to provide spectators a covered area to watch games under, a licensed bar in The Corner Flag that also offers food and snacks during the game which has garnered a fan base all of its own from visitors to The Cauldron.
The ethos behind this award is exactly why we decided to launch our website just over a year ago. With our social media and club reputation growing we needed a central place that everyone could look to for everything Reading YMCA FC. Delivering club news, curating our library of match photos and highlights along with club details for visiting players and spectators it was a another important step in our digital footprint.
The Football in Berkshire Awards night is on Wednesday 19th June from 6pm. The evening be hosted by Guardian Football Weekly podcast regular, author of Up Pohnpei! and co-host of The Sweeper podcast, Paul Watson, at Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading. The venue is accessible by train from Reading Station and the number 17 bus, or Tilehurst station. There is also plenty of parking available at the venue.
Doors open at 6pm and dinner is part of your ticket. Food this year is provided by Rural Pie Co. The evening will include a performance by guitarist Chris Lambert at half-time, and our house band The Small Strings at full-time. The venue is limited to 150 seats, so it is first come first served.
